Sheldrake and Rivière-au-Tonnerre
In Sheldrake, the first village in the Minganie area, with its large cross and its tombstones facing the sea, will make you discover sceneries as you’ve never seen before. Rivière-au-Tonnerre, which name comes from the roaring of the river itself, is a wintering station for the fishing boats of the area. It is one of the most beautiful villages in Duplessis, and for a long time, it was considered as the crab fishing capital of the world. You must not miss the wooden church, in which the archway has been decorated with pocket knife hand carvings!
