A City with an Impressive Potential

The Clarke brothers realized all the potential that the region could offer to their printing works. At the beginning of the 1900s, they settled here to publish the famous Britannica encyclopedia and they also built a paper mill. Later on, a hydroelectric power station was built on the river, and the first railroad of the North Shore was built to facilitate the transportation of goods. In the 1970s, this village became one of Sept-Îles' neighbourhoods. Nowadays, the interpretation centre makes you relive the beautiful years of this village.
