On this peninsula sit 12 of the 23 original buildings (warehouses) that were built nearly 150 years ago. These fishing warehouses were once used to prepare the fish and store tackle. These buildings are now classified cultural goods because of their heritage value.
This is where fishers used to salt and dry cod, and then put it on the boats that took it to the other regions to sell it. The Galets is also a six-kilometre long beach between Natashquan and Pointe-Parent where you can enjoy the warm waters of the Natashquan bay.
