Anticosti reigns in the middle of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, with its rich fauna and flora. In 1895, Henri Menier, who was a rich French chocolate maker, bought the island. This island, which is 8,000 km2 – 17 times the size of the Montréal island – is home to numerous animals like foxes, beaver, moose and of course, white-tailed deer, which are numbered at around 166,000.
More than 220 bird species have made this island their home, and numerous natural attractions await you. The famous Vauréal waterfall is one of them, just like the canyons, rivers and caves. The flora is very coloured, and some species are unique to the island. Come enjoy the outdoors on this nature island.
